We need to close the gap

There is a short and a long answer to why Future On Board has been launched.

The short version is: 

Because it is necessary! 

  • There are too many youngsters struggling to figure out how to manage adult life and the increasing demands both in private life and at work. Many youngsters are “burned out” before start working. 
  • There are too many business owners and leaders struggling to manage and recruit young professionals. They say they either have youngsters going too fast or not at all. The ones working are running too fast and do too much. At the same time there are too many not showing up at all or are so fragile when it comes to motivation, taking own responsibility and resilience. 

We need to close this gap and make sure that the young could manage work life. We have the experience, tools and knowledge to do a lot of this job. Future On Board is a concept within Situationsinriktad Ledarutveckling focusing on educating and training youths in Personal Leadership.

Personal leadership is for every one

Personal Leadership is about the ability to lead oneself. To know oneself in depth and take full responsibility for the person you are, your actions, choices and future.

It might sound easy, but as soon as you realize what personal leadership actually means it becomes clear that from now on almost everything comes down to you!

As an adult you are fully responsible for your own success and failures. It is up to you to design the future you want, and it is up to you to get yourself there. All along dealing with the challenges that will occur – both physical and mental. 

It is up to you to allocate the energy, spark and discipline that is needed to set those goals and to achieve them.

At the same time it is comforting to know that everyone can develop their personal leadership! It is not an ability you are born with and not something some people are naturally gifted at. There are no special prerequisites, educational levels or other socioeconomical requirements. Personal leadership is about an inner power. Even if the outer circumstances are limiting or chaotic, the individual can still develop a strong leadership and find the strength in that. Personal leadership is for everyone and it is a skill that is never fully acquired. It requires constant care, training and development!

  • The number who have received a mental diagnosis or been prescribed psychotropic drugs at the age of 10-17 during the last decade has increased by 100%. The corresponding figure among young adults, 16-24 years, was close to 70%. (Source: Socialstyrelsen)

  • Young people who received care for depression or anxiety syndrome in child and adolescent psychiatry more than tripled during 2006 -2019.   • Mind receives approximately 25,000 anonymous calls each year. A majority of the applicants are 15-24 years old. Many describe loneliness and that they have difficulty coping with life’s challenges. 21% state that they rarely or never have an adult to talk to.   • The total societal costs of psychiatric conditions are estimated at close to SEK 170 billion annually, which is the largest cost component for diseases in Sweden. (Source: Socialstyrelsen.se)

Certified leader developer with a driving force to develop people in all areas and achieve set goals.

Ola is a life-affirming, competitive and positive father of three from Höllviken. He has a long and broad management experience including companies such as IKEA, Samhall, Procurator, Bergendahlsgruppen, etc.

Ola is what you would call a ”prickly pear” – tough on the outside but soft on the inside – who likes a challenge and is also very intelligible. He values structure and results at the same time as he is a very good listener and always make sure that everyone is comfortable and well. Humor and openness are also important, and Ola thinks you shouldn’t take yourself too seriously, even if we’re dealing with serious aspects. 

Ola’s values, freedom, relationships and results, are also reflected in his role as a leader developer. “You have to work with me because you want to. Not because you have to”. Ola also believes in long-term relationships. “There are no shortcuts to long-term lasting results. Especially not in the field we work in.” says Ola.

Andreas har alltid brunnit för det holistiska: en balanserad helhet. Dels för att man lättare kan vara autentisk (sitt riktiga jag och inte den man tror att man ska vara), dels för att man får ett flyt i livet; både privat och professionellt. Han närmar sig allt med ett funktionellt sinne och tvekar inte på att utmana eller testa något nytt.

Susanne har mer än 30 års erfarenhet av att utveckla individer och organisationer genom att lyfta förmågan att kommunicera och leda, skapa starka relationer samt att stärka mod och självförtroende. 

Susanne har jobbat med allt från enskilda individer till ledningsgrupper i stora och små företag, i Sverige och Norden främst. Under de senaste 8 åren har hon varit en del av organisationen som levererar Swedish Open i Båstad. 

Susannes styrka ligger i att skapa förtroende och att våga utmana för att lyfta nivån på resultaten. Hon drivs av att bidra till att människor plockar fram och använder hela sin potential.

Certifierad ledarutvecklare med en drivkraft att utveckla människor inom alla områden och nå uppsatta mål.

Ola är en livsbejakande, tävlingsinriktad och positiv trebarnsfar från Höllviken. Lång och bred ledarerfarenhet från bland annat Samhall, Procurator, Bergendahlsgruppen och IKEA. 

Ola är en “tuff mjukis” som gillar att utmana och är mycket tydlig. Han värdesätter struktur och resultat samtidigt som han är en mycket god lyssnare och mån om att alla ska trivas och må bra. Humor och öppenhet är också viktigt och Ola tycker att man inte ska ta sig själv på allt för stort allvar även om man brukar allvar. 

Olas värderingar – frihet, relationer och resultat – går även igen i hans roll som ledarutvecklare. “Du ska jobba med mig för att du vill. Inte för att du måste”. Även Ola tror på långsiktiga relationer. “Det finns inga genvägar till långsiktigt varaktiga resultat. Speciellt inte inom det vi arbetar med” menar Ola.

Med över 6000 coachingtimmar i bagaget har Therese idag framgångsrikt hjälpt hundratals ledare på både individuell- och organisationsnivå. Hon har även coachat hundratals ungdomar i personligt ledarskap, hjälpt UF-företag att utveckla sina företagsidéer samt agerat mentor för unga entreprenörer.

Therese har en bakgrund som civilekonom och besitter över 20 års erfarenhet som marknadsdirektör, försäljningschef och VD. Idag driver hon både Future On Board tillsammans med Situationsinriktad Ledarutveckling. 

De företag Therese arbetat med visar på stärkt tillväxt och många av företagen har blivit utsedda till de främsta i sin bransch. Therese strävar ständigt efter långa kundrelationer och hon går alltid den extra milen för att varje individ ska få det som den behöver för att må bra och lyckas i sitt arbete.
